- i got scamed by these people. they got me for $5000. dollars. they claimed that they are from IRS and left a massage on my home phone saying that its important to call IRS at 202-808-3661. when i called they said that my mother has a criminal case against her and that i need to go to a local place to pay her bond. they said i had to purchase green dot cards to pay IRS over the phone or else the immigration was gonna come to take my mother to jail. i was really worried and did everything they told me to and after i give them the information from the cards, they said... after talking to general attorney, the $5000 was not gonna be enough and i need to get them another $9000 and at this point i got the feeling that i was being scamed and so while with these people on the phone i decided to drive over to the police station and talk to a cop for some help, i drove to alameda police station where i live and asked to talk to an investigator . i waited and after waiting for half hour some cop came out , i explained the problem. the officer said to that , that is not how the IRS works. they will send you papers to tell you about a problem if there is any. the officer said to hang up the phone and call the card people to cancel the card. i called the green dot card people to check the balance on the card and was told that it was $0. on the card and that they cant help me. i am so mad that people would do something like this. i worked very hard for this money and to just lose it like that really makes me sick to my stomach. the people are from india . i know this because of their accent and i lived in pakistan so i understand hindo . i will never trust another indian and the indian that works for me at my store is gonna be fired do to what his people did to me today. for all those people who dont know ..... be careful not to fall for this. i am sure some people who are reading this is saying that i should of known better and i do. but at that point all that i was thinking about was my mother in jail and i was willing to do anything in my power to stop that from happening. i didnt think the time to think it over. i just thought i was saving my mother from going to jail. now i can tell you that i will never show love to any body from india and will never do anything to help them.
