- Number (706-887-4728) rang through at precisely 8:18 AM this morning, rang twice and then hung up. Caller ID listed as 'debt collector' as the "name". If this were a true debt collector (which I am not in arrears on any of my bills), they would leave a message for whomever they are trying to reach, and they would have a legitimate name showing on the caller id. This is not a true debt collector, and a search for the phone number lists it as a cellular number (which debt collectors don't use cell phones for business calls if they are legitimate companies), but this is scam artists fishing for information to defraud people out of their hard earned money. I've seen this happen far too many times, and our FCC needs to crack down on these scam artists!! And so another number is blocked, as the FCC has lost control, and is not enforcing the laws in place apparently.
