- This is yet another call from a Caller ID "UNSAFE NUMBER" trying to con about a credit card account and interest that isn't real. The phone number used are often phished/stolen phone numbers. The confirmed scam by the Ohio Atty General's office starts off with a "strict" sounding robo voice wanting to talk about the call recipient's credit card account, balance and interest. In my case, I don't use credit cards by choice so there is 100% NO reason to ever get such a call. If it were a legitimate call an honest bank would have a person making the call and they would NOT be using phished/stolen phone numbers. It don't answer my phone for these numbers, but they always leave the robo voice message as it I had and am still listening. When the prompts to a "live" person is meet often times it is reported to be a crude person. Who gets to talk the call recipient into giving their personal and financial information right down to credit and debit card numbers. As soon as he has them. CREDIT cards are being maxed out and bank accounts gotten into. They now have stolen one's personal identity AND financial information. Usually call recipient's are left to trying to cancel card numbers and trying to undo the theft mess of their accounts. PROTECT YOURSELF from this happening to you... just never answer or give any iota of information out to these crimimals.
